This is another quick and easy recipe for when you just want something incredibly tasty but you don't necessarily want to spend an eternity in the kitchen. Simple Rice and Beans can take around 30 minutes to make, from start to finish.

If you don't fancy turkey sausage, feel free to swap it out for something else. For instance, if you want a vegetarian version, you could always use diced potatoes instead.

Simple Rice and Beans Ingredients
- 3 - 4 portions of rice
- 1 Turkey Kielbasa (Sausage) - any other type of sausage can be used, but we like this variety
- 1 Onion
- 1 Green Bell Pepper
- 1 Clove of Garlic
- 1 Can of Canned Kidney Beans - drained and rinsed
- 1 Can of Chopped Tomatoes
- Dried Oregano
Add salt and pepper to taste
Method
- Bring a saucepan of water to a boil, add the rice, stir, lower the heat and allow to simmer (covered) for 20 minutes.
- Over low heat, cook the sliced sausage for 5 minutes in a large frying pan or skillet. Next, stir in the chopped onion, sliced green pepper and garlic; saute until tender. Pour in the drained beans and tomatoes (with the juice). Season with oregano, salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. Serve over rice.
